From a small beginning in a building at 18 S. Oak St., in the heart of
downtown Mount Carmel, The Union National Bank has grown into a strong
financial institution, always seeking the latest technology in order to
serve their customer's needs. Originally founded as the Mount Carmel
Banking Company on December 12, 1894, by Thomas M. Righter and eleven
other local businessmen and entrepreneurs, the institution became The
Union National Bank on October 10, 1906. The Union National Bank is
one of the oldest financial institutions in the Mount Carmel area, and
the Bank still holds dear their old values of customer oriented banking.
The Union National Bank has seen many changes over the years including
a devastating fire that occurred on July 4, 1993, totally destroying
the original landmark structure. The determination of both directors
and employees, as well as their overall dedication to the Mount Carmel
area, were the forces behind a grand reconstruction and rededication of
the building in December 1994. The Union National Bank is more than
just bricks and mortar, it is an institution that has stood the test of
time; through good times and through bad there has always been The
Union National Bank.
With consistently lower fees and consistently competitive rates, The
Union National Bank is proud to call itself your hometown bank. Let
The Union National Bank show you what old fashioned, customer oriented
hometown banking is all about.
